While Dr. levy performs several procedures for cartilage damage this represents the first FDA approved implant for not only cartilage damage but for early arthritis of the Knee

Several times in the recent past, Dr. Andrew Levy has been lecturing at the International Cartilage Repair and Joint Preservation society on the importance of treating the subchondral bone in arthritic conditions. The focus was on avoiding metal replacement options by injecting calcium phosphate into the bone below the joint. Dr Levy demonstrated up to 7yr follow up of these procedures.

Agili- C, an aragonite scaffold made from sea coral has demonstrated excellent efficacy in European trials to treat cartilage damage and arthritis in the knee. Dr. Levy has helped pioneer this treatment over the last 11 years and has played a role supervising the US FDA pivotal trial that recently concluded enrollment. Read the link for more info.
